Paramedic Course Starting August 2021

New certification options are now available through the Mountwest Community & Technical College Paramedic Program. The next course will start on August 16, 2021. Program lectures will be conducted online and students will meet every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. for laboratory skills at the HealthTeam Critical Care Transport Training Center in Charleston, West Virginia.

Students enrolled in the program can become a Nationally Registered Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) in one semester. In one and a half semesters, students can become a West Virginia AEMT. All three semesters must be completed for Paramedic certification. All three certifications can be completed in less than a year.

Students from the 2019-2020 program had an 83% first-time pass rate on the National Registry of EMT’s Paramedic exam.
